What is Pilates? Pilates offers a whole body workout.  Mat based Pilates improves fitness, posture and coordination through exercises targeting postural muscles. The exercises help to gain muscle balance.  It encourages mind-body awareness.

Each individual works at their own level starting at the lower end of the scale regardless of fitness. Gaining core strength and stability takes time. It is rather like building a house - there has to be a strong foundation before the walls can be built. So we build core stability first.

Muscular stress is often hidden by groups of larger muscles which develop to protect weaker ones.  Pilates helps to retrain muscles to help working in the way they should and this in turn helps to improve bad posture and prevent back pain.

Stress is reduced. Pilates helps you to relax and improves concentration.
